Manifesting heaven on earth

in

Jesus gave us a very clear assignment to bring heaven to earth.

This may sound like an impossible task, and that is because it is one. It is not possible for us to do unaided.  However, we are not unaided for with God all things are indeed possible especially the mission He has given into our hands. The Church of this age is beginning to emerge into living this out on the earth by bearing the Kingdom of God to the earth in such a way that the earth is transformed by a touch of heaven upon it.

For too long it has been taught that heaven is the place we go to when we die.  The doctrines concerning heaven have revolved around what it takes to get there, rather than what heaven has to do with us now. Jesus said in John 14:1-4 that he was going to His Father’s house to prepare a place for us to be where he presently is. The Scriptures also say that we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  Therefore, we begin life from a heavenly seat when we come to know Jesus. Thus, heaven is a place we live from now, not just when we die.

This opens a whole new world for the believer.

We need to examine what it means to be seated in heavenly places and how that affects our lives and the world around us.  We are ambassadors of heaven, endowed with the power and reality of heaven through Jesus. Thus, just as an earthly ambassador speaks with the authority of his nation and bears the gifts from that nation, so do we bear the authority and gifts of heaven to the earth.

This world is not our home, but it is our assignment. Our home is heaven; the world is our place of deployment. Paul said he could go home to heaven, but it was better for the world if he stayed here longer. He was an agent of heaven, as are we. He taught from that place of what is true in heaven.

Practically we bring heaven to earth when we live in alignment with heaven.

Heaven is the good environment of the good Lord. Thus all things good have reality there. There is no pain, suffering, unkindness, injustice, hatred, etc. But there is peace, joy, self-control, love, hope, health, kindness, goodness, gentleness, justice, etc. All of these things we can live in and release to the world around us by walking out of our particular assignment on earth.

Man’s Missions

It is very important to know what it is God has given to each of us to do. At the same time, we must remember that what we do comes out of who we are. We are children of God. The Scriptures say we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. We are children of the light. We do not abide in darkness, but in the light.  When we bring Jesus we dispel the darkness. We bring peace to storms both literal natural storms and the storms of life. We bring joy to mourning and hope to the hopeless, we bring goodness and kindness and healing. We establish the reality of heaven on the earth.

Jesus taught us to pray “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

We bring heaven to earth when we pray and release His Kingdom.  We were told by Jesus to do this.  So it is possible to bring the Kingdom of heaven, His Kingdom to earth and to make earth look like heaven.  We need to see the world as Jesus sees it, with hope, not with despair.  We need to agree with heaven if we want to partner with Him in bringing heaven to earth.  It is not possible by human means, but it is possible when we bear His supernatural Kingdom in our hearts for we are not of this world, but are agents of the King.
